An altogether new airport is to be built – with no completion date yet established – 40 km north of Tampico International Airport. Able to handle 1 million passengers a year, it will cover 1,200 hectares and have three runways and a passenger terminal.
So far, Tampico International Airport hasn’t been receiving a good reputation owing to many reports of plane crashes or accidents.
