The American travel app was founded 11 years ago, but it’s not as progressive as other travel sites. CheapOair slowly grew from a small company providing travel bookings, to one of the best online travel agencies. In 2009, CheapOair was recognized as one of the Top 10 largest travel sites. The mastermind behind CheapOair is Sam Jain; he established the travel site as a subsidiary of Fareportal and, as Sam explained, the name induces the meaning of “value and affordability.” Today, we’ll look more into CheapOair’s services and reviews.
How does CheapOair Work?
CheapOair doesn’t seem to have given much time on the layout of their domain. It’s simple yet confusing. The travel site won’t give you the hype you will feel when you first access Kayak or Hotwire. What we are trying to say is CheapOair doesn’t convince travellers that they’re actually a travel agency. The flight search engine is shown at the left side; it also provides options to look for hotels, car rentals, and vacation bookings.
As stated on CheapOair, results have a best price guarantee. Basically, using CheapOair comes with three steps: search, select, and save. With their 24/7 customer service, CheapOair will do the rest. Customers who don’t have a definite search can check on the site’s daily flight deals, featured offers, and best price.
If you’ll notice, CheapOair provides a promo code so customers can get up to 20% off. This promo only applies to bookings for 4 travelers and up. The promo will last until November 30, 2016. Additionally, to avoid language barriers, CheapOair has an option to change the country and language of the site located at the top.
Yes, CheapOair has a mobile application. The travel app is available in the App Store and Google Play Store. The free mobile version of CheapOair provides more mobile-exclusive deals. Booking was made easy by accessing CheapOair on a smartphone or tablet.
CheapOair Reviews of Consumers
Reading through CheapOair reviews online, the travel app is in a bad shape. On SiteJabber, the travel site got an overall rating of 2.5; this was based on 616 reviews. One customer recently posted saying, “I wish I could give them a big zero.” The customer bought 4 tickets, but a few days before the actual flight, he received an email saying his reservation was cancelled. Until now, there was no refund processed for his paid booking.
We checked on other commenting sites; majority of the complaints are somehow connected to hidden charges and unprocessed refunds, as well. CheapOair had become infamous for this kind of spamming.

Personally, I won’t use CheapOair since they are not reliable. The interface doesn’t convince us that much. The travel site looks like a bait that will lure you to book and waste your savings. I had done my share of research and we are not satisfied with the travel company’s standing. As a traveller who frequently books online, I would prefer booking using a credible site over CheapOair.
